Keeping Busy with Nothing

I will admit that I am probably on social media too much. I have said to Taryn more than once, that I want to just cut it all off. The only reason I don't, is because of family and friends to whom I want to stay connected. Because of this, I haven't disconnected from all my different social media platforms, but I am attempting to learn how to use them better.

The Good Bye of Friends

We have some of our good friends leaving Edinburgh over the next few months. It has been odd saying good-bye. In all honesty, we haven't known any of them for too long. However, we have walked through this time in Edinburgh with each of them, and the shared experience has united us. It will be hard to say good-bye. Yet, the more that Taryn, Calvin, and I move, the more we realize how much good-byes are a part of our life.

Friendship

The Gifford Lectures this year have been provocative. They have caused me to think and question some assumptions that I have held while also not agreeing with everything that is being argued. Last night, there was a panel discussion and was wonderful. Here is just a short glimpse of what was discussed.

Outside Looking In

I remember the day we got on a plane and headed to Edinburgh. There was excitement, nervousness, tears, and anticipation. It was a whole new adventure. We had no clue what we were walking into. We were leaving behind friends, family, and a life that we had grown to love. All things considered, we were in a good place at that moment. And yet, we moved to Edinburgh.
