On Being Home

On Being Home

Have been home for almost a month. Time has flown by. I can't really get my head around the fact that we are already half of the way through this trip. A few people have asked if we are ready to go back to Edinburgh yet. The answer I have given is yes, but that's only because we are looking forward to sleeping again. The trip so far has been nonstop. We have loved it and it is great, but it is exhausting.

Being back has been quite amazing. Connecting with old friends and meeting new friends. All in all we really couldn't have asked for much more. I am not sure Calvin has stopped since we got here. The boy just goes... and goes... and goes some more. Taryn has been able to spend time with good friends. I have gotten a bit of time studying, writing, teaching, and eating with some of my friends. So far, we couldn't have asked for a better trip.

So the question persists, are we ready to go back to Edinburgh? The answer is yes and no. Yes, in the sense that getting back into a routine is always nice. No, in the sense that we will truly miss everyone here. We will miss seeing our friends. We will miss Calvin being able to run and play with so many other children his age. It will be hard to say good bye yet one more time. Fortunately, we have another month, so until then we will enjoy the time we have.
