Managing Expectations

Managing Expectations

The last couple of weeks have been a little crazy. We almost sold the house, but when the buyer’s finances fell through, we moved back to square one. I know this is not out of the ordinary and thus, I am once again starting the habit of keeping the house squeaky clean (I don’t think I have ever mopped the floor so many times since we moved in!).

To be honest, we have had more disappointing than encouraging news of late. A few unsuccessful scholarships notifications and the slow realization that Nullah may have to permanently leave us - all bundle together in a big ‘sigh’. What was I expecting? Perhaps that the house would sell in a day, that Cam would get ALL the scholarships he applied for, and Nullah would trot into a home for 3 years and come back to us when we return, alas – the expectations!

Today – I enjoy a roof over my head, a husband that is faithful in the little things, a son who loves chasing and climbing all over his puppy dog, and thus – I need not worry about tomorrow.

Little steps.
